Se encuentra en el estado de Sucre, al noreste de Venezuela, en lo que se conoce como Península de Paria. Según sales de la ciudad de Carúpano hay que ir hacia el este y a la altura de Río Caribe hay una pequeña entradita por una especie de puerto por el que bajas hasta el nivel del mar. Desde allí hay que ir bajo las miles de palmeras hasta casi la orilla, donde se puede dejar el coche.
Y ante nosotros se abre una de las imágenes más bellas nunca vistas. La alfombra de palmeras que antes veíamos desde la carretera es ahora un enorme techo verde que nos cubre hasta llagar a la orilla, donde la arena fina nos da la bienvenida a una playa de aguas no cristalinas, transparentes casi.
